Botox & Xeomin

Both Botox and Xeomin are neurotoxins used to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By injecting neurotoxins into muscle, we can reduce underlying muscle contractions that exaggerate the appearance of wrinkles. Our experienced Nurse Practitioners and injectors will discuss both options with you prior to your treatment.

Botox

Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is the first and only FDA approved treatment to temporarily improve both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows & crow’s feet in adults over 18 years of age. Delivering subtle, predictable results, Botox leaves you still looking like you - just with fewer lines!

Xeomin

Xeomin® is a Botox alternative, containing the same active ingredient as Botox without any additives. The major benefit of a pure-form injectable is that the human body is less likely to be allergic or become resistant to Xeomin because there are simply less ingredients in the solution. The effects of Xeomin have also been reported to start sooner than Botox in some individuals.

Did you know Botox and Xeomin results are not instant? The injections typically start to kick in 2-3 days following treatment. Full results take about 2 weeks. If you would like any tweaks made you will need to wait this 2 week period before any adjustments can be made.

On average, Botox and Xeomin results last 3 months. However, everyone is different - some clients may see shorter or longer lasting results!

Botox and Xeomin is priced per unit. The amount of units needed will depend on what areas you want treated, how many areas you want treated, and how much your muscles move!

Most clients are relieved to hear Botox and Xeomin injections are pretty painless! Numbing is not required as you should only feel a quick pin prick.

For those who are nervous- feel free to let us know! We want you to feel as comfortable as possible!

There is minimal downtime following Botox and Xeomin treatment. Immediately after your appointment, you may notice some light redness or swelling at the injection points that should subside after a few hours.

Because there is a small risk of bruising, we recommend planning your treatment at least 2 weeks before any events.

Side effects from Botox and Xeomin are uncommon, but can occur.

Headaches may occur following treatment, but typically subside within a few days.

In rare cases the neurotoxin can spread to untreated areas, which may result in the appearance of dropping eyelids, or "spock" eyebrow. Following aftercare protocols can help reduce the likelihood of product movement. If you do notice these presentations, wait a full 2 weeks following treatment as it will most likely resolve on its on. If these presentations continue beyond this 2 week period, please let your provider know as we may be able to counteract the effects with a few additional units.

  • If you experience a mild headache following treatment, you may take Tylenol for pain relief. Ibuprofen is not recommended.
  • Do not wear a hat or lay down for 4 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid exercise, hot tubs, saunas, and tanning until the day after your treatment.
  • Do not rub, massage, or have any facial treatments for 24 hours after treatment.
